eps supply ‘Decent Homes’ for Drum Housing Association

This is a 5 year partnering contract to deliver the ‘Decent Homes’ standard using NEC partnering contract. Innovations include the development of customer code of conduct with residents and the use of web based project database.

eps survey and fit new kitchens and bathrooms into Drum Housing properties including some void properties. These are spread out over Hampshire – (with an approximate radius of 20 miles East-West and 45 miles North-South). eps is able to fit a new kitchen in 10 working days and a new bathroom in 7 working days. eps hands back 300 kitchens and 200 bathrooms to residents each year.

eps has a strong and committed team with the majority of the operatives having been with the contract right from the start – through to Contract Manager Ashley Bennett, Site Supervisor, Clinton Ford and Customer Liaison Officer Julie Fletcher.

The partnership contract has been running successfully since 2004 maintaining an exemplary 100% resident satisfaction level.

Project cost control and monitoring have been via an “Open Book” Agreement and this has led to a 7% reduction in costs per unit year on year.

The Code of Conduct for Operatives was developed in a workshop with the residents and operatives; this produced real benefits as both parties took ownership of the code. This useful training tool is now given to all operatives working on eps Social Housing projects.

We are pleased to say that we have a year extension on this contract making it 6 year partnering contract.
